Neil Pasricha, fellow Queen’s grad and author of “Book of Awesome” and the popular blog 1000Awesomethings.com, writes;

Awesome item #227 is…..”When you finally get rid of that thing that’s been rolling around the trunk of your car forever.

It haunts you on every turn.

The muted thump of that half-filled water bottle, grass-stained golf ball, or pair of skates clanging against the side of your trunk. And you think it’s annoying, and you think you’ll get rid of it, but when you arrive at your destination it’s suddenly about getting out, getting in, and getting it tomorrow.

That’s what makes it great when the glorious day finally comes. When you clean out the trunk and it sounds like…AWESOME!”

I love the simplicity of Neil’s awesome things. It’s probably why so many people relate to his blog. I have to admit that I have been driving around with my old worn out winter tires in my trunk and should drop them off at a collection centre to be recycled. Not only do they bump around, but they don’t leave any room for the several pair of new shoes I bought last week. And new shoes are way more awesome than old winter tires!

What’s in your trunk? Make room for something awesome.
